Two years following the launch of the European Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan in 2015, a framework for monitoring progress has been developed. The framework is used to track progress and manage knowledge on the circular economy in the European Union, bringing together data from numerous regions to show where progress is maturing and where more work is needed. The tool will aid policy makers in determining success factors and setting new priorities. The framework is composed of ten different indicators in four areas: production and consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials and competitiveness and innovation.
