Use of ground coffee beans to produce pellets for heating

The UK alone produces 500'000 tonnes of coffee grounds every single year, many of which are landfilled and produce large amounts of CO2. The British company bio-bean has developed a techology to turn ground coffee waste into heating pellets that are around twice as energy-rich as common wood pellets. One tonne of recycled coffee can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 7 tonnes.
