Espana Circular 2030 was released by the government of Spain in June 2020; the document sets out the circular economy goals and objectives, along with strategies to realise these objectives, for the next decade. The strategies and objectives included in the document will theoretically spark a 30% reduction in national resource consumption, a 15% reduction in waste generation and a 50% reduction in food waste per person for retail and households, compared to 2010 levels. It will facilitate Spain’s shift to a sustainable, carbon neutral, resource efficient and competitive economy. The Strategy is based on successive three year roadmaps or action plans that delineate concrete measures for transition.
