INDICATOR
Company targets for a sustainable use of renewable resources
definition

The company has specific targets to ensure that it is not using renewable resources to an extent that exceeds their maximum sustainable yield

Relevance

The company specifies that it has measurable targets in place to ensure that its consumption of renewable resources does not contribute to exceeding the maximum sustainable yield of that particular resource stock. Maximum sustainable yield (MSY) is theoretically, the largest yield (or harvest or catch) that can be taken from a renewable resource stock over an indefinite period, in order to maintain the population size at the point of maximum growth rate, and thus to continue to be productive
