Regenerate strategies phase out hazardous or toxic materials and processes and substitute them with regenerative biomass resources. A circular economy aims to mimic natural cycles—by shifting to more regenerative farming practices, for example—while also maximising the share of circular biomass that enters the economy. Regeneration can happen both at the systems level (by designing regenerative processes) as well as at the product level (by switching synthetic to organic fertilisers, for example).

Key elements of the circular economy

<p>CIRAA organized a round table for Zemanka Biopekárna (organic bakery) in Prague, to which we invited all suppliers for its new fully circular organic bakery project. We hosted the event as the main consultant for the architectural study, tasked with ensuring that all the principles of the circular economy were fully adhered to from the initial design stage. We also collaborated on this project with the architect Karel Golán from the crea-tura studio, who was responsible for the architectural study.</p>
