There are a lot on interdependencies between Europe and Africa. The African continent is the EU’s fourth trading partner when it comes to export and the third when it comes to exports. The transition to a circular economy, both in the EU as well as in Africa will have large implications for the trade flows and interactions between the two continents. However, up to now there is a lack of knowledge at EU institutions with regard to the current status of circular economy development in Africa and the topic is not a priority in cooperation initiatives and programmes between Europe and Africa. How can collaboration and knowledge sharing be fostered between the two continents?
