CICERONE, an organisation working to bring countries, regions and cities committed to research on the circular economy together, has created a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, collaboration and co-creation. Funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 project, CICERONE highlights how fragmentation in national and regional strategies in Europe leads to a lack of alignment and difficulty in identifying priorities. A systemic and integrative approach, founded on knowledge management and data sharing, is necessary to meet the challenges posed by this fragmentation. To that end, CICERONE is coordinating strategies and objectives, and identifying priorities, for regional, national and European funding programmes.
