Energy Revolt s.c. is a Luxemburg-based energy co-operative which invests into durable energy projects. The cooperative is open to everyone: clients, municipalities and anyone who believes in a decentralized energy supply. The money raised by the cooperative must be invested in real projects that benefit the Luxemburg region, allowing local economic added value to be created. Since 2015, Energy Revolt has completed projects varying from wood chip heating installations, wind farms, and photovoltaic solar systems for both households and commercial establishments.
The energy sector is a key contributor to climate change, accounting for more than two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions. It is also directly impacted by climate change. To be able to reverse the negative effects of the energy sector on the environment, new technologies and solutions need to be implemented to bring forward emission reductions at scale. The increased deployment of solar and wind power, a shift away from coal-fired power generation and a greater focus on energy efficiency all contribute to this decline.
The Energy Revolt cooperative is a cooperative society based in Luxemburg, where anyone can invest their money to develop sustainable energy projects. The company believes that a sustainable energy supply should be in the hands of citizens and not large corporations. The cooperative was founded in 2015 and continuously accepts new members. It is open to everyone: clients, municipalities and anyone who believes in a decentralized energy supply. A share costs € 150 and the number of share purchases is unlimited. The money raised by the cooperative must be invested in real projects that benefit the Luxemburg region, allowing local economic added value to be created. Once a year, members can choose to reinvest their dividends and therefore increase owned capital or have them paid out to them.
Since 2015, Energy Revolt has completed projects varying from wood chip heating installations, wind farms, and photovoltaic solar systems. There are two new projects in the pipeline: financing a new shopping center pellet heating system, and a new photovoltaic installation on the roofs of households in Luxemburg, taking advantage of the new national law on self-consumption.
