HNST jeans will be the first ever made from 50% recycled denim. The company organised a collection campaign to collect over 6000 pairs of jeans from 80 different locations. All collected pants were then sorted by De Collectie according to quality and usability. The garments that are still of good quality were sold in local second-hand stores. The remaining jeans were mechanically recycled by the European Spinning Group into yarns for the HNST jeans consisting of 50% of old denim fibers and 50% Tencel®.
