Dutch water company Waternet is at the forefront of phosphorus recovery from sewage, a key fertiliser input. A new phosphate recovery unit, the largest in Europe, recently installed Amsterdam-West will produce 1,000 tons of phosphate per year. This is then used in commercial fertilisers, reducing the need to mine finite phosphorus rock. Read more at
