According to the policy the government is to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safe management of e-waste in Uganda and contribute to reduction of environmental degradation by mitigating pollution arising from the use of electric and electronic equipment including setting up e-waste management facilities, setting standards, education and training, resource mobilization and setting up take-back schemes for e-waste.
