This law constitutes the updated Malagasy Environment Charter, a framework law setting out the fundamental rules and principles for the management of the Environment. It defines the principles, the general framework for environmental actors and development actors, principles and strategic orientations of the country's environmental policy and includes provisions on promotion of efficient waste management systems for agricultural, industrial, household and hazardous waste.
