Ecohub converts recycled plastic into affordable housing. Their aim is to solve the plastic waste menace and support landfill management to create a cleaner and healthier environment. Their vision is to transform houses in old villages into decent housing using their own building material, called the eco-brick. They intend to build affordable houses that will also serve as quick disaster relief for low-income earners.
This case study has been created as part of Footprints Africa's work to build a comprehensive open-source database of circular economy initiatives in Africa. We are doing this in collaboration with the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN), as part of our programme to support the circular economy transition in Africa.
